One of the traditional meals of German cuisine becomes an even more impressive delight thanks to Extra Virgin Olive Oil Aceite 1881. Enjoy this spell for the senses.
- Aceite 1881
- 12 oz beer
- 3 onions
- sliced 4 pork hocks (knuckles), remember choose the meatiest one.
- garlic cloves
- 2 Tbsp salt
Step 1: The first thing is to preheat the oven to about 350F.
Step 2: Cut the onions into slices and place them on the bottom, creating a bed of vegetables.
Step 3: Rub a clove of garlic over the meat and add it to the vegetables. Add half a quart of salt for each piece. Place the knuckle with the side of the meat facing down.
Step 4: Pour the beer over the knuckle regularly on all sides.
Step 5: Put it in the oven and leave it for about 3 hours, until the skin is crisp and tender. Remember to check it every hour and add water to the bottom of the tray in case you think it starts to burn.
It is traditionally served in independent dishes with a fork and sharp knife. In this way everyone can easily cut their flesh. The potatoes, onions and any other vegetables that you have decided to add are placed on the side. And do not forget a good sauerkraut!
Enjoy it with your family and with a good German beer!
