SAT Santa Teresa was created to gather together the traditions and history of a town, promoting its values and promoting the labour, education and culture of the olive.

The result is 1881, a superior category Extra Virgin Olive Oil, because when the raw material is high quality and is lovingly cared for during the whole process, there is nothing else to add: the essence is excellence.

One of the principal values of SAT Santa Teresa is the education and dissemination of the olive-growing culture of Osuna. Thus it has for years been sponsoring the learning and knowledge of the culture and collaborating with different institutions in the publication of many books and paintings that bring people closer to this ancient and new world of the olive.

Some examples of these are titles such as: “De Osuna y sus Olivos” (Of Osuna and its Olives), “Diario de un vendedor de olivos en Manhattan” (Diary of an olive salesman in Manhattan), “Monólogo del Olivo” (Olive Monologue) and “El aceite nuestro de cada día” (Our oil of everyday), with authors as renowned as José Manuel Caballero Bonald, Manuel Vicent, Antonio Gala, Jesús Quintero, Pilar Valero and Mario Vargas Llosa.

SAT Santa Teresa is the first olive-growing company in Spain officially accredited in the Integrated Production of Olive Oil and has received national and international awards throughout these years, being one of the most highly recognised and valued companies by consumers.

At the end of the 18th century, there were already 68 oil mills in Osuna, of the type called beam presses, of which 50 belonged to secular producers and the rest to religious communities and ecclesiastics, producing a profitable 600 reales de vellón (Spanish coin) a year.

Around the year 1881, a group of Osuna families grouped together and started to devote their daily lives to the olive, bringing together the thousand-year-old traditions of the olive-growing town.

In the mid-twentieth century, they set up the entity that today is SAT Santa Teresa. In 1959 they began jointly to produce, bottle and export their excellent product with the aim of sharing it all around the world.

Today, the SAT Santa Teresa family is made up of more than 500 farmers, who proudly work to parade the name of Osuna and its 1881 brand throughout the whole world.

In 2016, in recognition of its achievement, our company received the San Isidro award for Food and Agriculture Excellence.

Going beyond all this, our 1881 Extra Virgin has a very special flavour, impeccable and difficult to define, a unique personality and its own special aroma for those who seek an olive oil with identity.

If anybody asks what Andalusia tastes of, from its roots to its sky, what its essence is: Andalusia tastes of its people and the toil of their hands. Andalusia tastes of Osuna, and Osuna tastes of 1881.
